Standing outside, surrounded by helicopters and near a full-scale 1-1 replica of a Lockheed Martin F-35 jet, I heard a woman onstage opening the 34th annual International Defence Industry Exhibition (MSPO 2026). Welcoming exhibitors and guests to the expo, the woman expressed a collective desire for peace, which at best dripped with delusion and, at worst, was sodden with disingenuous gaslighting. There’s not a soul exhibiting their wares in that building who wouldn’t lament world peace. War, blood, death: it’s all far too lucrative.
