Doctor Gabor Maté delivers a lecture to a Polish audience in Warsaw, Poland.

Hungarian-born Canadian physician, writer, and speaker Gabor Maté delivered a lecture to an audience at Nowy Teatr in Warsaw, Poland. Known for his work on addiction and trauma, he is also considered one of the most expressive voices supporting the rights of Palestinians. As a Jewish Holocaust survivor, his voice is particularly relevant to the debate. In this 1st event of a nationwide tour, Maté speaks on his "Reflections on Individual and Collective Trauma" with specific reference to the current ongoing genocide in Gaza. Following his talk, he is joined onstage by educator Ewa Jasiewicz for an audience-inclusive panel discussion. The event was organized by a network of academic teachers and students associated with Polish universities, non-governmental organizations (Polish-Palestinian Initiative for Justice, Kaktus, Nomada Association, Plan B Association) and socially engaged collectives (FFIPP Europe, keffiyeh collective).
