Polish delegates of the Global Sumud Flotilla return home in Warsaw, Poland

Pro-Palestinian supporters gathered at Chopin Airport to welcome the return of the 4 Polish participants of the Global Sumud Flotilla recently deported from Israel. Ewa Jasiewicz, Nina Ptak, Polish MP Franek Sterczewski and Palestinian Omar Faris were detained in international waters by Israel and, after refusing voluntary deportation, were moved to Athens, Greece before flying back home. With over 40 vessels, the latest Global Sumud Flotilla to provide aid to Gaza and break Israel's naval blockade was one of the largest yet and set out from Barcelona in late August before being intercepted in early October. Participants included climate activists, journalists, doctors and parliamentarians. Israel's naval blockade in Gaza is considered by many international observers to be in violation of international law.
