First step was removing it as subdomain. Also, having seen The Glasgow Bell’s progress on Ghost, I think a non-brainrot social media is possible.

Though I eventually decided to just do the newsletter on my own website, the leavesubstack.com site definitely helped me have some ideas of where I would have gone had I not chosen to just do it here.

As for Meta – just a shambles of an ecosystem now. I actively hate Facebook and Instagram, but can’t leave either as both are valuable places to find announcements of events, protests, etc for photographing. It’s pretty dispiriting knowing you’re tied into a place, in that way.
